hello everyone!
A g/f of mine is craving Indian. Any recomendations for really good, afordable places for a decent meal?
Btw, can anyone tell me what street the "weeping buddha" statue is on? I know I've passed it but I can't remember where it was. (i'm fairly new to the city and still exploring.)

Fri, April 27, 2007 - 12:54 PMoops -- forgot to give more specific directions about where Little India is.
it's the strip along Gerrard between Greenwood and Coxwell.
it has a huge variety of Indian, Sri Lankan, and Pakistani restaurants. great shopping too!

Re: Indian ?
Mon, May 14, 2007 - 9:46 PM"Chef of India!" at Yonge-Eglinton would be a good place to take a date, very clean, nice dining room and gets good reviews...I've been meaning to eat there myself (popular $8.99 buffet as well)...
"Cuisine of India" in North York, on Yonge not too far north of Sheppard has some tasty specials. "Lahore Tikka House" has decent food on Gerrard, and for take-away, "Moti Mahal"(also on Gerrard) can't be beat (you could dine-in but it's a bit of a dive).
For a more upscale experience there's "Kama Sutra" at Bayview/Eglinton. A bit pricey, but if you're going for ambiance, that's the place you want to be.

Re: Indian ?
Sun, July 1, 2007 - 1:45 PMI haven't really gotten to know good Indian places inside the city yet. But if you guys are mobile
and want to visit a place that is not too far from the city (maybe include lunch/dinner along the way for a trip),
there is a place that I stand by on the Miss/Oakville border called Molhatra's Exotic Flavours. It's located at 3100 Ridgeway Drive, Mississauga, L5L5M5 905-607-8058...major intersection is Dundas and Winston Churchill, located across from Famous Players. These guys
serve Indian as well as Continental and they are superb at all of it. My favorite there is Saag Paneer. -
